Shipping Associate - 1st Shift
Are you seeking a 1st shift Shipping opportunity with a growing Waukesha, WI company?
We are looking for you! Our Waukesha, WI client is looking to add 2 Shipping Associates to their team.
In this role, you will support and aid the Shipping Supervisor and Shipping Manager in the shipment of products from the warehouse to their customers.
- Perform shipping and receiving duties.
- Support the shipment of finished goods produced for sale to our customers. Aid in production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Always keep an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Must always wear safety glasses.
Education and Experience Needed: - Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory related experience in shipping and receiving.
- Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Ability to read packing slips, enter the correct information into the computer to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
- Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
- Familiar with tape measure and how to interpret.
- Familiar with Nail Gun and understand how to use it in a safe & effective manner.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Familiar with the most common material handling equipment, and willingness to become a licensed forklift truck operator. (Company will certify within.)
- Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is a plus.
Job Details: - 1st Shift: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday with overtime available during the busy summer season.
- Breaks: Two 15-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid lunch.
- Starting pay: $16/hour with a pay increase at hire and another 90 days later.
