Inventory Control Specialist - Weekend shift - $19-21/hour to start!

In this role, you will assist Inventory Control and Receiving to maintain a high standard of inventory accuracy by completing assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cycle-counting tasks, by providing employee coaching on standard inventory practices, and by effectively conducting inter-departmental communications. You will support employees and leadership in cross-functional departments including manufacturing floor, shipping/receiving, customer service, engineering, purchasing and sales. 
 
SHIFT: 
  • 1st5:00 am to 5:00 pm, Fri-Sun

PAY: $19-21/hr. You will work 36 hours and be paid for 40.
 
JOB DUTIES:
  • Provide an exceptional level of service that supports the delivery of our SPEQ Promise (Speed, Protection, Expertise and Quality) to our employees, partners, and external customers.
  • Accurately perform daily cycle counts on raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Research and reconcile any known or discovered discrepancies between cycle counts and reported inventory quantities.
  • Build and maintain positive, productive and professional working relationships with all employees as a primary point of contact for all inventory-related inquiries.
  • Process incoming requests (in-person, telephonic, instant message and email) from engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and other interdependent departments; 
  • Coach and train peer-level employees on proper inventory practices and procedures.
  • Use forklifts and combi-lifts to stock both raw materials and finished products.
  • Assist with processing and manually stocking customer and vendor returns, as needed.
  • Assist employees in locating items in the manufacturing plant.
  • Assist with various continuous improvement, lean, and 6S projects, as assigned.
     

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; plus 1+ years’ experience in completing inventory-related and/or cycle-counting duties. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in using and operating a forklift or similar stock related equipment is a must.
  • 1+ years’ experience working with an ERP System. Experience with the “SAGE” ERP platform a plus.
  • Strong computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, effectively time-managing and prioritizing one’s own workload.
  • High attention to detail and a consistent history of accuracy in completed work.
  • Proficient with interpersonal communication, both in written and verbal forms.
  • May lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience in training, coaching, or otherwise influencing the behavior of others, with or without a formal leadership title or experience.
